As long as 'you' know the story....isn't that enough for you?...beggin' claps and cheers from people ya don't know, is nothin' but a lust ta scratch your itchin' ego...and that doesn't fit your portrayed MO...or at least it shouldn't....be proud of yourself in silence....you'll find it much more rewarding.[

...you're 'darned tootin'! Which is WHY my knickers aren't all bunched up. But something more worrisome than giving 'credit where credit is due' is going on here...
Longs and believers in JR's technology 'want' to believe not only in the product, they (we) want to believe JR has learned lessons from his past and is becoming a better fellow.
JR struggles with being perceived as a snake-oil salesman, with playing fast and loose with the truth and other people's property, and other 'character-related' issues. He still has an array of legal hurdles he must clear sooner or later. (How he juggles all these issues and keeps focussed and keeps making progress is truly a wonder and testament to the man however!).
But he can hardly silence the critics or inspire confidence in potential business partners who are doing their DD on the man when he continues to do things that reflect poorly on his character or at least put question marks over their heads. And it even puts a question mark over people's head about ME! I claimed to coin the word. Am I telling the truth or not?
So was this a misstatement? Misunderstanding? Lapse? Or was it revisionist history at the expense of the truth for vainglory's sake? The man is brilliant and sharp as a razor and juggles 50 balls at once. Maybe that's why these little things fall through the cracks. So why not say instead, "I trademarked this really nifty word that one of our shareholders coined which means..."
When my son first read this, he was so hacked off, he was almost ready to sell off! A company cannot long be successful when being run by someone who is untrustworthy and fundamentally dishonest... and that's how he "came across" in this instance. Even a typo or misunderstanding doesn't can't totally alleviate the impression.
I poured a little oil on his troubled water (easy to get indignant where your parents are concerned isn't it?), and suggested, in the overall scheme of things, is not really all that big a deal. Grant already said it. JR knows that we know...
A little thing indeed... but it's JR who needs to sit back, give pause, and reflect about how things like this make him appear to others... to detractors and defenders alike.
'Nuff said about this... thanks for all the support gang!
"If you refine it, they will come..."
