The rock quarries still have end loaders putting the rock in the crushers, and end loaders loading the trucks. The conveyors just pile the gravel on piles, after it comes out of the crusher. But the crusher doesn't move, and you only need to move the conveyor to another pile, every couple of days. To have Conveyors which would run the length of the building to feed the units would be impractical, as they would be long, expensive, and block access. 1 loader which handles 6 - 10 tons at a time could feed 200 reactors by itself, be a lot cheaper, and more versitile.

This is where the (KISS METHOD) is appropriate (Keep It Simple Stupid). They would want to feed smaller #,s as a unit 8-16 . KEEP in mind 200 reactors pruducing (24-7) .whether it is Augers or Belts on 2 wheels that can be replaced in a matter of minutes with spare all ready to go in a holding aeria there would be (NO) down time for that unit of reactors as SILO would cover the Time to make the switch. The bigger or larger tthe feed process the more time &units AFFECTED with longer time to repair. THAT MEANS $$$$$$$$ LOST!!!!!! WillyBill

Kiss would make sense with size of the reactors as well. 4 reactors as against one large one to a unit.One small reactor goes down only loose 25% of the units production.Thanks WillyBill.

I was talking about 4 reactors to a unit. As they keep on adding units, you need a bigger end loader to keep up. I would assume the end loader they have now, possibly a 2 to 3 yd unit, would be able to handle up to 6 to 8 units,(32) reactors, before they need to go to a bigger end loader. If the end loader breaks down, then simply call up consort, and borrow one from the cement company. That said, they should design the hoppers to handle the bigger end loaders, which would mean a 9ft wide bin, and 10 cubic yd capacity.

Well, this is encouraging!

So many of JR's detractors have spent so much time insisting a leopard can never change his spots...

Granted, it may not be the way to bet, but it is SO encouraging to hear of progress in people isn't it?

I just spoke to acquaintance who had just seen John and said he's REALLY LOOKING GREAT !

Evidently, he's cutting way back on his smoking, has lost a good forty pounds or so, and even had to take a link or two out of his wristwatch band to keep his watch on!

I've marveled that he's managed to maintain such a brutal pace as long as he has without collapsing. Clearly, he's following the doctor's orders and taking better care of himself !

And staying alive is a good thing when you're on the verge of bringing your "baby" into the world!
