Sustainable Power Corp. Acquires Interest in Texas Power Systems

Sep 9, 2008 10:17:44 (ET)

BAYTOWN, TX, Sep 09, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Sustainable Power Corp. (PINKSHEETS: SSTP) announced today that it has reached an agreement with Texas Power Systems, a division of TPS Houston Group LLC, pursuant to which SSTP will acquire a 30% interest in TPS.
TPS Houston Group, LLC was formed in August 2004, to acquire, remanufacture, service, sell and distribute power generators to meet the needs for power generation in areas of municipal power, drilling applications, prime and stand-by power requirements in the world power market. Sustainable Power has already acquired a 580 KW power generator from TPS which has been tested and works on the biofuel products produced by Sustainable Power's facilities.
By acquiring this interest in TPS, Sustainable Power now has an in-house company with power generation capability directly from Sustainable Power's biofuel products.
TPS Houston Group, LLC's strength is in its ability to package, repair in-house, and owner operate power generation packages from 50 KW to 100 mega watts on either diesel fuel, HFO, or natural gas anywhere in the world! The power generation packages will operate directly on the biofuels produced by Sustainable Power. TPS' main product line is Caterpillar with Waukesha, GM, Superior, and Cummins to balance the market. TPS Houston Group, LLC is capable of classified packaging of these products to operate in hazardous locations. At this time, TPS has a contract pending in Bolivia for up to 75 mega watts over the next 8 years and in 2004 sold its 4-5 mega watt plants in Ecuador. The future in Central and South America is with a growth potential to as much as 50 mega watts in various locations. This capacity and capability is naturally synergistic to the operations of Sustainable Power throughout Central and South America.
John Rivera, SSTP Chairman, advised, "I am pleased we have brought TPS Houston Group into our fold. The natural fit of our two companies was immediately recognized when we completed our review. We are excited about the potential to generate power essentially in-house at Sustainable Power."
Stephan Lett, President of TPS Houston Group LLC, stated, "With the combination of SSTP and TPS, we have created a powerful electricity generation company capable of delivering power generation capacity throughout the world, particularly in areas which would otherwise be impossible. We at TPS are excited to be part of the team at Sustainable Power as we work to grow green energy in the United States and elsewhere."

Hey Gang At Kaboom!

Nice to drop in amid more good news. The PR's recently sound positive, but the whole clearing of land and obtaining land and buying reactors doesn't strike me as what's REALLY needed right now... I would think producing and selling biocrude and biofuel is the number one priority and, if one or two reactors are running right now part/most/all the time, I would think a pretty consistent revenue stream should be running into the coffers by now given all the refinement and tweaking over the past year...

FWIW... I had a fairly lengthy conversation (very recently) with a former board member who is a very serious and accomplished individual. He did not want to see his name on the message boards, so I would appreciate you all NOT asking who it was NOR speculating on who you think it might be. If you start doing that, then his name would wind up on the boards wouldn't it?

The choices aren't that numerous anyway so connect your own mental dots but this is just FYI... so you may all return the favor by simply contemplating the info and NOT discussing past board members by name. Thank-you all in advance for your cooperation. If I see any names "FLOATED" as possibilities I won't share any further insights/info I might obtain.

This board member's resignation was for a couple of personal reasons, and of course, not everyone is going to always agree with where mgt. seems to be heading. But even though this person is no longer involved with SSTP, he still is impressed with all of what he saw with his own eyes and is still keyed in on what Jim Ford has said about this technology on numerous occasions, that it's the most radical thing he's seen in thirty years in the industry and it's revolutionary.

So this too, still bodes well for POTENTIAL, but it's still going to take the right people at the helm to bring it to market and that's still the big question mark.

I'd still like for this technology to come to market, I'd still like to see SSTP succeed, and most of all, I'm still hoping Mr. Rivera can learn from his mistakes in the past and continue becoming a better--a humbler and more honest--person.

Still rooting for SSTP and Mr. Rivera!

Hey Crystal!

I just spoke to the head man at Fusion this morning and he was very pleased with the progress that enabled them to get substantive PR's out both last week and every day this week (when's the last time THAT happened?)

So what we have is change at the top, which we've all been wanting and hoping for (and which I've personally asked Mr. Rivera to do). It is to be further hoped that the change is substantive and not a mere token or cosmetic change!

Then we have good news mon, tue, wed, and when I inquired about the progress for their biogas that was supposed to be at a local filling station within 90 days (almost 90 days ago), he said, "Stay tuned, we're not done putting good news out yet." Since this isn't Redwood anymore, that sounds a little on the promising side.

My final question to him was, does this latest news mean the other things are NOT being pursued still (the green jet fuel, the biogasoline and other refinable products). Not at all. They are still proceeding with everything on multiple fronts, green power and green fuels...

Well how about that?!

Talking Baytown Weather Forcast!

Detailed Local Forecast

How to Read This
  • Today: Windy with showers and a few thundershowers. High 89F. Winds NNE at 25 to 35 mph. Chance of rain 60%. Winds could occasionally gust over 50 mph late.
  • Tonight: Bands of heavy rain containing strong gusty winds at times. Low 78F. Winds NE at 50 to 70 mph, becoming SSE and increasing to 70 to 90 mph. Rainfall expected to exceed 2 inches. Winds could occasionally gust over 100 mph.
  • Tomorrow: Bands of heavy rain containing strong gusty winds at times. High 82F. SSW winds at 50 to 70 mph, diminishing to 25 to 40 mph. Rainfall expected to exceed 2 inches. Winds could occasionally gust over 80 mph early.
  • Tomorrow night: Windy with bands of heavy rain showers along with some thunder. Humid. Low 78F. Winds S at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 80%. Significant rainfall amounts possible.
  • Sunday: Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have made contact with officials in the Baytown Facility, the building is locked down, the reactors are safe. The building holding the reactors is built with a large heavy steel frame, it will stand 100 mph winds. The facility is far enough from the water, so no storm surge will effect the property or building. They will have a nasty day or two.

The wind is howling, rain is blinding

Trees down,power flickering.

I'm 70 miles from Baytown and I may lose everything I own. God's wrath is upon us. Have mercy on us my Lord.

Talking SSTP Baytown Okay!

Some flooding on the property, not near the building. The building is just fine, no damage, held well.

Some trees down on property, were no trees near any buildings, all down trees on the outskirts of the woods.

No electricity, except for our own. Some garbage on property from winds nothing major.

It was not as bad as they thought.
