Very Interesting Find
Things were slow today, so as everyone here says, patience my boy.......
Look who our partner has contracts with: Borneo Energy Sdn Bhd had signed separate service agreements with three Thai companies - Suntech Palm Oil Co Ltd, Siam Gulf Petrochemical Co Ltd and Transtech Energy Company Ltd. It said under the agreements, Sugar Bun would provide management and technical services to the three companies. Borneo Energy is a subsidiary of Borneo Oil & Gas Corp. Borneo Oil & Gas Corp executive director Abdul Hamid Ibrahim said in the filing with Bursa Malaysia that the agreements carried an option for its holding company to invest in the three companies. Boy things are really getting interesting or could get real soon !!! |

National Energy Security
Today our nation's economy is heavily dependent on oil imports. While the U.S. has four percent of the world's population, we consume 25 percent of the world's oil production. And, the situation is not improving. As domestic production of crude oil has declined, the country's dependence on imported oil has increased. According to the Energy Information Administration, imports account for 65 percent of our crude oil supplies. Furthermore, projections show the price of oil will remain strong as demand for oil continues to increase across growing world economies. This dependence on oil has left us vulnerable to disruptions in oil supplies due to natural disasters, political disruptions, and price volatility. U.S. Production and Imports of Crude Oil In addition, our reliance on foreign oil contributes significantly to our trade deficit. Oil imports are the largest component of the U.S. trade deficit, accounting for 33 percent of the trade deficit in 2006. The 2006 petroleum deficit was $270.9 billion, an increase of $41.7 billion (18.2 percent) from 2005, while the non-petroleum deficit increased $89 billion (1.6 percent). The most effective way to secure the nation's energy supply is with a diverse renewable energy portfolio of clean, efficient, and domestically-produced energy sources. Biofuels play an important role in this portfolio as the only near-term substitute for liquid transportation fuels. In 2006, U.S. production and use of nearly 5 billion gallons of ethanol reduced dependence on imported oil by 170 million barrels equivalent, valued at more than $11 billion. And, with an evolving biofuels market, a much greater percentage of our nation's fuel needs can be met with fuels derived from domestically produced, renewable biomass resources. Printable Version |

The Department of Energy is a major provider of funding for basic and applied research for converting biomass resources to biofuels. Many financial assistance opportunities are available for small to large-scale research activities.
Department of Energy's E-center The Department of Energy (DOE)'s e-center contains information on doing business with the agency. The e-center allows you to search by keyword and view renewable energy funding opportunities, register to submit proposals, and obtain information and guidance on the acquisition and financial assistance award process. This database provides accurate, up-to-date information on all solicitations offered by the Department of Energy, including those offered by the EERE Biomass Program, Office of Science, and others. DOE also provides this information to the central database for all Federal government grants, grants.gov. Both sites' individual postings contain contact information and application criteria details for current solicitations, should you have questions. In addition to independent solicitations, DOE conducts joint solicitations with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) as part of the Biomass Research and Development Initiative. Project criteria are specified in each new request for proposals, but information regarding recently-awarded projects may provide guidance for prospective applicants. DOE and USDA encourage you to apply. Printable Version |
