Well, I've got GREAT news, and not so great news. The not so great news is (for friends who've enjoyed our exchanges), is I'm leaving this 'loose-knit' little community. Because I've been an active part in it on such a regular basis, I thought it appropriate to say good-bye.
I'll leave it to those for whom this is GREAT news to say good riddance!
All in all, I've had a great time!
Posting has often been 'therapeutic'--a great way to de-stress from the daily grind.
Posting has been educational... I've learned a lot by being here. Thank-you VERY much Fairway for everything (if thanks pays the bill), because, honestly, everyone here is really indebted to you. Hope they all get around to expressing it sometime! But I've even picked up a worthwile thing or two from the skeptical un-friendly.
Posting has been good practice. Since I'm a writer, poet, and wordsmith, this forum has provided numerous opportunities for me to practice my craft, waxing eloquent at times, being goofy/silly at others, and just plain having fun with a lot of it. I think my "Field of Dreams" metaphor was one of my better pieces... and I'm glad a number of you have enjoyed my posts and have also had some fun with them.
Posting has been, as Slim often points out, instructive in human nature. Aside from learning about JR & Company, we learn a lot about ourselves and each other (the good and bad within EACH of us). But this too is part of life and living within community.
It goes without saying that I appreciate sympaticos who share a dream and hope, like Raven and Mickeynu and others too numerous too mention but I especially appreciate those I'm on opposite sides of the fence with and have still had a great relationship with.
Posters like Slim and Jack and Robn couldn't disagree with me more, but we've still been able to converse, quip, trade barbs good-naturedly and still be friends, or at least good neighbors! For those of you who would like to stay in touch and dialogue about developments, my web-based email is:

I'd be glad to hear from you. It's amazing how much fun one can have and how good a friendship you can forge while disagreeing completely... a lesson/ability many here have not YET learned, but maybe in time...
Finally, posting has also has become a chore (sadly enough). The politics of personal destruction are alive and well here along with way too much suspicion, bitterness, and hatred. One has to work overtime to NOT get along with me (as anyone who really knows me will tell you), but there's a few in every crowd that, like a bad apple in a barrel, will affect/poison others in time.
I've been amazed that, as objective as I've remained and as obviously aware I am of the challenges for this enterprise to succeed, that my eternal optimism has come to convince many that I'm somehow aligned with the Company or Redwood or, in some way have these sinister qualities that justify numerous personal attacks and insults. My posting history is here for all to see and not only does it speak for itself, I'd wager that most folks would find my body of work here far more uplifting, entertaining, informative, and profitable (in different ways) than many other's body of posting work.
JR and Baytown is about the future, not the past, but this board has become mired in the past, as the last two days attest. It's true that those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it, but this must be held in a healthy tension with another truth, that the past is a poor place to live.
And those of you have have come to live in JR's past have created a board where there is NO life anymore! And nothing to live FOR! Raven is right, bitterness and skepticism has blinded many to that here. You've become so accustomed to breathing the toxic atmosphere here, you've forgotten what a lung full of fresh air feels like.
There's no hope here anymore... no cheer... no optimism... no enthusiasm... and when someone tries to kindle a spark of any of it, the bitter skeptics turn out in force to stamp it out. "THERE'LL BE NO SUCCESS HERE!!! THERE HAS BEEN NONE IN THE PAST, SO THERE CAN BE NONE IN THE FUTURE!!!
Ahhh! What a pity... that's no way to live, not even on a stock message board...
I believe that JR has turned the corner. I believe Baytown proves it. I believe the new talent on the Board of Directors prove it. I believe whatever funding is flowing and enabling Baytown proves it. I believe all those pictures available prove it. And I believe the constant parade beating a path to JR's door proves it. And I also believer we'll be on the BB soon and fully reporting.
I believe that... "If you refine it, they will come..."
